MCUNU FAMILY Ms Julia Mcunu aged passed away in 2005 due to HIV/AIDS related illness. Julia left behind two children under the care of grandmother. Nomasonto aged 9yrs is still at primary doing grade 4, Thulani aged 14 yrs is at home due to mental disability. The family is currently surviving on the government grant of R 600 00 for both children.
MATHIKGE FAMILY Obakeng Mathikge aged 8 yrs was orphaned after both parents passed away due to HIV/AIDS related illness. Obakeng is still at primary school grade 6; she is left under the care of her grandmother and uncle. The family survives on the government grant of both Obakeng and the grandmother (R 900).
MOSWEU FAMILY The Mosweu family is classified as child headed household, both parents passed away in 2003/4 due to HIV/AIDS related illnesses. This is a family of three aged 21, 13 and 10. The elder sister who is 21 takes care of the other siblings. The 13 years old is in grade 8 and 10 year old is in grade 5.The family survives on R 600 per month from the government.
